This is my final week of posting three times and as such decided to end with a bang. I have dedicated this week to the world famous franchise known as Scooby-Doo. The series is brilliant whether it be the original TV series, the new 2020 Scoob! or any film in between, it does not matter. I personally foresee the series remaining popular for decades to come. I do not recall meeting anyone who has not at least heard of Scooby-Doo. Having a connection with multiple generations brings hope for the future of the series.
I am a huge fan of anything Scooby, but I have a special love for the live-action films released in 2002 and 2004 starring Freddie Prinze Jr. as Fred, Sarah Michelle Gellar as Daphne, Linda Cardellini as Velma Dinkley, Matthew Lillard as Shaggy and Neil Fanning as none other then Scooby-Doo. The films were entitled Scooby-Doo: The movie and Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed. Both films were well scripted with a great set and fantastic special effects! There is a monster in the second movie called 10,000 Volt Ghost. The monsters are so well crafted it almost makes you see why the gang is so scared. And of course it being a Scooby movie they had to throw in a monster called, Cotton Candy Glob.
Scoob! is a cinematic success and how could it not be with the lovable Zac Efron voicing Fred Jones. One of my favorite lines in the new film is when Dick Dastardly, the villain, kidnaps Fred calling him "the poor man's Hemsworth."
Scooby-Doo is a series that you can watch at any age and find some kind of humor in it. The cheesiness of the lines, the adult jokes or even the chaos that seems to follow Shaggy and Scooby everywhere. And no matter which film or episode you're watching or which page you are reading, you can always count on the certainty behind specific elements. One recurring element is Velma's obvious inquiries. There is also Fred's naivete and his attachment to his ascot and being behind the wheel. There's the recurring capture of Daphne or her need for independence. Scooby and Shaggy's blunders that always seems to catch the bad guy. But out of all the well-known and beloved traits of the gang and common themes in the stories, there is always one thing that comes to the mind above all else. Food. The amount in which Scooby and Shaggy eat is extraordinary and not just the amount, but the creations.
Seeing how it was Scooby-Doo, I decided to make a lot of sugary dishes. This dish is called Monster Punch. It is green Hawiian Punch, Sprite and Lime Sherbet. And for a little extra pop I added gummy worms!
